Revised School Day

Our extended school day starts tomorrow for our hybrid days.  Our front doors will continue to open at 8:45.  Our first bell for class will start at 9:05 for in person learners.  Students will be dismissed at 2:10.  The majority of our synchronous instruction “live times” including the morning meetings will remain the same unless the teachers have contacted you with a revised schedule.

We are very excited that so many families (more than 80%) have elected to return to in person instruction on April 6.  Students will attend four days per week Monday through Thursday, using the same hours listed above. If you are interested to have your student(s) return to in person instruction, please contact Mr. Wesley or Mrs. Smith.

A video will be posted early next week about the details for April 6.  Remote students will be expected to log in during live times, as teachers will not be posting recorded lessons from the synchronous learning times beginning April 6.

Note from the Nurse

As the snow melts, the mud appears! Our supply of spare pants has dwindled. Please consider sending a spare in your child’s backpack for such an occasion. We are also accepting donations of outgrown pants in all sizes to keep in our supply. Thank you!

Registration

Registration for the 2021-22 school year has opened for new and returning students.  Please take a moment to register your child online so we can continue preparing for next year.  No registration fees are collected at this time.  If you have any questions, please contact Lori Stover (district registrar) at lstover@syc427.orgor 815-899-8100.

Summer OSCAR

Oscar will be offered this summer at South Prairie.  Please note that that Registration is Open on a first come/first served basis.  Registration is scheduled to be  April 1, 2021 at 10:00 AM.  If you have specific questions, please contact Courtney Walz, at cwalz@syc427.org.

Note from Food Service

On March 17 & 18, the District will be handing out 14 day food boxes at the High School (at door E3) for meals through Spring Break. On March 15 and 16, we will continue to give out the two day food bags at the elementary schools for the Hybrid program, but no 3-day bag will be distributed for the remaining days of that week. Hybrid families will need to pick up 14 day boxes starting March 17th just as the remote families do.  We will resume Hybrid bag distribution on Wednesday March 31st and Thursday April 1st along with the seven day Remote bags as well.
